A striking façade

Arenahotellet in Uppsala stands out from ordinary hotels through its emphasis on catering for sports and association events. Its façade has attracted a lot of positive attention, too.

“The beautiful façade has attracted a lot of attention. The combination of Steni’s façade panels and the illumination of the building is quite striking.”
Jenny Engström, CEO of Arenahotellet, is delighted with the sports hotel that opened its doors in autumn 2017.
“The feedback we receive from guests and visitors is extremely positive, and the hotel has become something of a landmark for the city.”

Good solutions

It is the first time Aaron McLaughlin has used Steni’s façade solutions.

“But I’ll definitely be using the product again,” he says, citing reasons such as the customised, cast elements featuring different angles that Steni is able to supply.

“They offer ideal solutions for windows, niches and corners, creating a neat, attractive expression,” the architect explains.

Luxurious

Aaron McLaughlin, architect at the consultancy company Tema, was looking for a quality material for use on the façade of the large, modular building in Uppsala.
Göran Blomgren, Construction Manager at the contracting company Part AB, pointed him in the direction of the Norwegian façade product. As soon as Aaron McLaughlin saw Steni’s façade panels, he was fascinated by the beautiful surface.
“It looked much more luxurious than that of their competitors’ products,” he says

Interesting expression

Arenahotellet in Uppsala presents an exciting façade in changing colours and gloss qualities.
“We used white façade panels in three different gloss levels: matt, semi-matt and high gloss,” relates Aaron McLaughlin.

Complicated

It is also the first time that Göran Blomgren, Construction Manager, has used Steni façade panels.
“We didn’t know anything about the product, but when Steni presented the panels to us, we decided to give them a try. They were simple to install and produced a beautiful result,” he says.
Steni’s staff facilitated the work with logistics and installation. They took care of the measuring work, produced to order, and delivered labelled panels ready for installation.
“There are lots of windows in a hotel building, so adapting the solution is complicated. But Steni made it simple for us,” says Göran Blomgren.

Sustainable

Architect Aaron McLaughlin is similarly impressed with the working relationship with Steni.
“They gave us a lot of really good advice – about how to reduce wastage, for example. In this way, they actually helped us save at least 15 per cent on the cost. Overall price comprises more than just the purchase price, and Steni could have chosen to sell us a lot more, but because they helped us reduce wastage we not only saved money but also helped the environment. We really appreciate that,” he says.
